Clean and fruity red, with ripe blackberry fruit and citrus character. Lots of fresh fruit on the palate. A good Santa Cristina this year. Drink now. 375,000 cases made.

Always an excellent super Tuscan. Fresh yet complex, with mineral, blackberry and toasty oak. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a refined finish. A bit tight now, but shows potential. Give it a few years of bottle age. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best after 2005.

One of the best known and appreciated Banfi labels in the world, Col di Sasso, which translates to Stony Hill, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese cultivated on the most rocky and impervious slopes of the Banfi estate in Montalcino. The perfect marriage between these two grapes gives birth to a youthful yet concentrated and extremely fruity red wine.

A great Italian wine along with Alessi breadsticks, Bella Familia bruschetta and more wonderful food pairings.

Fresh and fruity, with clean black cherry, berry and chocolate character. This is slightly loose-knit on the medium palate, but the lingering fresh fruit keeps the interest up. Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese.

Intense ruby red color. It offers full and complex aromas which recall ripe fruit, plum jam, mint, chocolate and tobacco. In the mouth, the wine presents itself with good body; it is round, with soft velvety tannins. The finish is long and lingering, leaving hints of ripe fruit on the palate. 89 pts. RP.
