This offering has elevated the Estate Pinot Noir program. Layered components of earth violets and black fruits complete this elegant Pinot. After nearly a decade, the Estate bottling has finally found its voice and it begs a listen.

Fine lace and silk are the words most often associated with this wine. Bright, intense colour and complex aromas evoking violet, black cherry and damp earth. According to the vintages, there are also notes of truffle and game. Refined tannins coat the palate. Good balance between texture and acidity. Long aftertaste, with notes of cherry and candied fruit.. - Veronique Boss-Drouhin

93 pts - WA. While most Au Bon Climat Pinots are vineyard specific, Isabelle is created by masterful blending in the cellar of the best barrels from those specific sites (Bien Nacido, Sanford & Benedict, Talley Rincon, Mt. Carmel...the proportions are a very proprietary secret). The result is a wine of incredible depth, complexity, and focus- very serious Pinot. For this year's Isabelle, Jim was presented with more quality components than he has ever had to work with due to the exceptional nature of the vintage. A brilliant effort worthy of space in any cellar- it will live for years.

Light on its feet, swirling its ripe blueberry, currant and mineral flavors over refined tannins and a fragile structure that lets the finish hover enticingly. Drink now through 2018. 513 cases made.

The 2009 Estate Pinot Noir is a fine example of clonal diversity coming together in one wine. The focus is decidedly Burgundian, with flavors of raspberry, cherry and wild berries, good acidity, and a nice French oak complexity.

A delicious red Burgundy, with harmonious flavours. Bright ruby colour. On the nose, intense aromas of wild cherry, liquorice and mild spices, evolving towards notes of undergrowth and mushroom. On the palate, excellent balance between tannin, acidity and gras (velvety texture). The aftertaste is reminiscent of little red berries.

91pts. Wine Spectator. This is a delightful Pinot Noir. Scents of well-spiced cherries and berries are echoed in the fruit flavors which are delicately kissed by oak. The fruit is full of vim and vigor and well-framed by substantial ripe tannins. Still young and somewhat undeveloped, this beauty will benefit from another 6 to 12 months in the cellar.

Shows pin-point balance, good weight and fantastic spice. A mouthful of perfectly ripe raspberries shows juicy and fresh, with loads of baking spices and kick on the finish. An outstanding basic Bourgogne.
