Black ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, plums, raisins, and fig jam. Medium to light body with soft, sweet tannins. Good balance with a long finish. Made from organically grown grapes.

This 100% Tempranillo from the Santa Rosa vineyards in Mendoza shows intense ruby color. The wine offers great ripe fruit aromas such as figs, dried prunes and cherries well integrated with vanilla, coconut, tobacco, and smoke notes. Soft entry on the mouth with silky tannins and balanced acidity. It has a long finish. 90 PTS - RP

92 pt Wine Advocate The entry level 2008 Mauro is composed ofTempranillo and Syrah aged in barrel for 16 months. According to Garcia the 2008 was Atlantic influenced in a cooler but very fine vintage with plenty of hang time. It is a full bodied, rich, racy offering with layered fruit, a vibrant acid structure, and savory black fruit flavors. On the palate all components are nicely integrated coming together in a long, pure finish. It will evolve for 2 to 3 years and drink nicely through 2023.

90 Robert Parker The 2009 El Picaro displays just how superb the vintage was in this region. Made from all Tinta de Toro, this purple-colored wine displays a fragrant bouquet of mineral, lavender, licorice, black cherry, and blackberry. Full-bodied, dense, rich, and concentrated, it has layers of spicy black fruit, good balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. This outstanding value over-delivers in a big way. Drink it over the next 5 years.

Burnt and cheesy smelling, with undefined, leafy red-fruit flavors. Hard and tannic in the mouth, with herbal flavors and a hint of green on the finish.

This round red offers sweet, jammy flavors of cherry and strawberry, with vanilla, toast and balsamic accents. Well-integrated tannins and light but fresh acidity keep it all balanced. Drink now through 2014. 700 cases made.

One of the most deliciously supple and elegant expressions of the Tempranillo grape that I have ever tasted. This wine is a winner. It has flavors of both red and black fruits and a zest and persistent tangy edge that really makes the wine exciting. Made by ex pat New Zealander Ariki Hill, the Haka is a great wine to pair with foods of all kinds and to keep you warm on a cold winter night.

94 Robert Parker Opaque purple-colored, it delivers a stimulating perfume of wood smoke, slate, espresso, blackberry, and black currant. Harmonious, ripe, and loaded with spicy red and black fruits, the wine has tons of flavor and a 60-second finish. Itwill evolve for several years and provide pleasure through 2020. List $65

90 Robert Parker-The 2006 Issos offers up plenty of pepper and baking spices as well as fragrant incense and blackberry aromas. Supple and forward on the palate, the wine offers a big mouthful of fruit buttressed by enough ripe tannin to carry thewine through 2014.

There are ponderous aromas of black fruit and refined leather, then earthy, complex flavors of luscious dark fruit with complex leather and tobacco/spice within the long length. From 26-year-old vines, the wine is aged for one year in new American barrels, says proprietor Joseph Alberto Zuccardi. We were the first in Argentina to do high quality tempranillo, rather than blend it into bulk.
