100 Sauv Blanc - NYR 8-4-08 Quincy is similar to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fum\ufffd, with a racy acidity and mineral, gunflint aroma. The Vieilles Vignes is an exclusive bottling for Jeroboam Wines -- the Mardons allowed Daniel Johnnes to select this cuv\ufffde and bottle it unblended. It is made from 80 year old Sauvignon Blanc vines, the oldest on the estate. This wine transcends the appellation. It is delicious with goat cheese and shellfish. The village of Quincy is located about 50 miles west of Sancerre on the left bank of the Cher river. This lesser-known Loire Valley appellation can be an excellent source of crisp, driving, minerally Sauvignon Blanc. It is nearly indisputable that Domaine Mardon produces the best, most serious, most complex Quincy available. Their famous \ufffdTres Vieilles Vignes\ufffd cuvee, bottled especially for Daniel Johnnes, is made from vines that exceed 80 years of age, and it rivals many a top Sancerre for sheer fruit density and depth. For their level of quality, Mardon's wines represent unbelievable bargains in the Loire.



90 pts RP The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc Reserva is a great value. It exhibits a fragrant bouquet of mineral, passion fruit, and citrus. This leads to a mouth-watering, vibrant, lengthy Sauvignon that way over-delivers for its humble price. Tabali is producing high quality wines from the newly developing cool-climate region of Limari.



Fresh with substantive ripe citrus aromas and flavors; textured with very good brightness; this has always been one of America's best values in this varietal.


A bright & fresh Sauvignon Blanc. Ripe grapefruit and lime notes dominate with fresh herb and minerals on a dry finish. The texture is beautiful and rich, and the mouthfeel very soft. The palate explodes with tropical fruit, mango and papaya.

Citrus and grassiness come to the top of the glass. In the mouth, there's a real sense of grapefruit, with its acidity and an appropriate touch of bitterness. This has been a perennial value from the appellation. Sourced from grapes grown near the domaine in Bue. Situated at the village of Bue' in the Sancerre region of the Loire Valley, the Gerrard Millet family has been making wine for over 5 generations. The Estate covers a total of 20 hectares of vineyards, of which 3 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir grapes. These vineyards are situated around various villages in the Sancerre region.
