ST PIERRE [ST JULIEN] 2007 750ML

Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. I must have underrated the 2007 Saint-Pierre because this showed extremely well. This is totally different from the last showing, which was also conducted blind. It has a perfumed, quite feminine bouquet with wilted rose petals infusing the red berry fruit. This seems very composed and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, fine focus and plenty of freshness and vigor towards the lightly spiced finish. This is a very well crafted Saint Julien that should offer another ten years of pleasure.

Impressively ripe fruit, with smoky flavors from wood, the texture sweet and fleshy. The wine has juicy berry flavors, with the freshest acidity, livened with spice from the fruit and the oak aging.
